Family Tree Tarot Blog!

We have previously seen the GenoNumerology for F.J. Shafer and her parents, Gilbert Shafer and Lillian Clawitter.

The GenoTarot for her parents provides additional insight into the patterns influencing her parents' lives -- some of which were inherited from their parents beforehand -- and subsequently the life of F.J. Shafer herself (and her offspring).

In this example we see the following:

- Gilbert's World Tarot card (based on his name) results in the Lovers tarot card.  We can see how important it would have been to Gilbert to have a nurturing, sensual partner in his life offering a sense of comfortable home-coming at the end of his day.

- Gilbert's Soul card -- the deeper person inside the persona Gilbert -- is the Chariot, representing movement, energy, goal orientation and ... choice of direction.  This suggests that he brings to his family life an energetic intention to succeed combined with a bit of uncertainty about the direction his life should take.

- Gilbert's Karma card -- representing the need to rebalance in order to grow -- is the Death card, combined with the Hierophant.  How interesting.  Gilbert's life is from the beginning subject to enormous change.  In order to grow as a being he must transform the material world around him.  To do the right thing (the Hierophant) as a spiritual being, he must approach change in a disciplined, ritualistic way regardless of the challenge this represents.

- Lillian's World Tarot card is Strength.  This derives from her four names, and from a series of highly contrasting tarot archetypes which are: the Devil (bondage; surrendering to circumstance), Strength (mind over matter, self-control), the Hermit (inner mind, reclusiveness), and the Empress (fluidity, hard to grasp, mysterions yet confident).  These give way to her combined name card, Strength.  Lillian has a double-dose of mind over matter and determination to succeed.

- Lillian's Soul card is a combination of the Moon, representing femining power, intuition, instinct, uncertainty, with the Hermit (inner mind, reclusiveness).  Lillian at times would have been impossible to understand.

- Lillian's Karma card is a combination of the Star, representing inspiration, hope and confidence, with Strength (determination, mind over matter).  Lillian has a triple-dose of Strength in her GenoTarot.  On bad days she would have been seen as impossibly stubborn, rigid in her beliefs and behaviors, unreasoning in the face of other points of view.

- The marriage card is Justice, suggesting the need for balance, fairness and harmony in the relationship.  The Union card is once again the Hierophant.  The couple's fate seems to be ruled by discipline, family tradition and the need to do the right thing regardless of how this feels in the moment.

As explained previously...Gilbert died at an early age (55).  His life was caught between two very different choices (the Chariot) -- the need to please his ambitious wife, and the need to be considerate and patient with his banking customers, many of whom owed him money.

The GenoTarot offers new layers of insight into a GenoNumerology analysis.  Where numbers represent active energy in a person's life, the tarot represents latent, potential energy.  The tarot offers a behind-the-scenes understanding of why a person behaves the way they do.  Taken together, we have a rich appreciation for who the person was.
